Welcome to Beacon Eye Care
Our practice is based on the philosophy of providing quality comprehensive vision care. Using the latest in technology, we provide professional eye examinations for the entire family. We provide primary eye care services, including urgent care.
Contact lens fitting and optical services are also available. Our recently renovated and expanded Optical Department has frames for every member of the family.
Janet C. Whelan, OD
Dr. Janet Whelan grew up in Saco, Maine and graduated from Thornton Academy. She attended college in Oregon and graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Maine Optometric Association. Dr. Whelan has over 35 years of experience and enjoys caring for new and established patients.
Lauren N. Boutet, OD
Dr. Boutet is a Maine native who grew up in Saco and graduated from Thornton Academy in 2006. She attended the University of Maine at Orono where she received a degree in Biology. She was accepted into the accelerated program for early admission to the New England College of Optometry and completed her doctoral studies in 2013. She was recognized as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honors Society. She has been practicing at Beacon Eye Care since her graduation. She is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association.
Dr. Boutet is accepting new patients and has clinical interest in the treatment and management of glaucoma, as well as specialty contact lens fitting.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their four dogs and skiing at Sugarloaf.
